hes not playing it wrong! well he is, hes just doing it such a way so that is very easy for a very beggininer level player. and is on drop d so that it can actually sound somewhat like the actual song…
good job, learn it this way and then move on and learn it the original way.

@elysium735 if you read my cmmt propperly ..i stated that .. live versions, may be different from studio versions … people write out tabs for the different versions .. and this guy has learned it that way … if he’s teaching kids how to play … maybe its the simplicity of it that draws them in .. i’d rather they learn a guitar and enjoy making music, whether its wrong or not, than maybe being turned off guitar all together by all the technical in the other version

@MARIOSSP62 No sir, the pedal sits on the floor, the guitar plugs into the pedal, and then from the pedal to the amplifier. You rock it back and forth; forward cuts out bass(lower) frequencies and backward cuts out treble(higher) frequencies.
Guitar pickups are magnets that pick up a tiny frequency from the vibrating metal strings. That signal goes to the wah and is manipulated depending on how you use the pedal, and that signal is then amplified by the amplifier

I don’t have a camera or I would. Buy me one and a mic good enough to hear and I’ll teach the whole internet how to play guitar correctly.
Until then, don’t preach about how there’s “no right way” to play it while this teaches beginners improper technique that will hurt them down the road.

For all you idiots who are saying “he’s making it simple so everyone can learn it” and “there’s no right way to play it!” shut up please.
There is a right way and a wrong way and teaching people incorrectly or with bad technique will hurt them down the road. You shouldn’t teach something you can’t do correctly. ExpertVillage is full of, especially at anything music-oriented.
If you want to learn guitar, learn what a power chord is, what major and minor mean, and what a scale is. Google it!

@olegreg92 its not uncommon for guitarists to change their songs around .. for live or recordings…maybe tom found it easier playing it the way you’ve seen or visaversa. there is no “right” way of playing something .. we all have our different interpretations on things … and this guy has obviously taught his understanding of the song … maybe he learned from tabs on the net, ‘n they arent always accurate..dont rage bout it. post a vid response correcting it. if it affects your life SOO much
