Guitar lessons?

20th June 2010

I have been taking guitar lesson for about 3 months now and dont feel that I am progressing as much as I should be…My questions are…What does a beginner guitar lesson usually consist of?…What should I be looking for in a teacher?…Is there ‘set excersizes’ or a ‘curriculum’ of sorts I should be studying before I learn whole songs? Thanks so much for your help….Maybe wrong category sorry

Guitar lesson are difficult. What works for one person may not work for another. The best way I have found to learn to play guitar is to learn songs. Simple ones at first using basic cords and progress to harder songs. There are different speed and picking exercises that you can practice that will improve your sound and cord progression. Don’t stop. Keep at in. The average person should put in at least 1 hr of practice a day until they become decent and play daily to keep up their skills. Good luck.
